I found it very satisfying. The last part showed how much Korra has changed through the series. Her talk with Kuvira felt as real and heartfelt as any of the characters were in the first series. We saw an awe-inspiring display of avatar power when Korra took control of that spirit vine energy to create a new portal. Mako and Bolin were both epic in how they took down the giant mecha suit. And I know before I even say it how much trolling this can cause, but I actually liked that Korra and Asami got together. I thought it was very endearing. So, to anyone who has a problem with that, try to keep an open mind.

I was never fond of Mako...but when it looked like he was going to die, I flinched. I was also never fond of Hiroshi, but I actually teared up a little when Kuvira just...swatted him like a fly.

Speaking of Kuvira: she survived the ending and her fate was emotionally satisfying. I think that's a first.

As for Korra and Asami strolling off into the spirit portal hand-in-hand: I'm guessing mass denial comes next.

I wish. But she's female, dark-skinned, solidly built, has a tendency to rowdiness, and is implied to be biromantic. That's excuse enough for some haters.
