<p>Yeah, I would have gone for something like "I know you're going to rescue your family & I want to help." <p>The Book 2 Korra Treatment is the exact opposite of what the writers kept insisting they were going for with Book 2 Korra? </p>

<p>I guess Opal was only slightly mad at Bolin, judging from that ending of today's episode. Maybe it was Zhuli's line about Bolin's heart being in the right place because somehow Opal didn't get that from watching him feed the villagers way back? I'm actually glad they resolved it early so we have to sit through it for the next three episodes. </p>

<p>She was able to forgive her Aunt for ignoring her half of the family for all her life, three years betrayal is much shorter </p>

<p>In both cases, Opal does forgive very quickly. Almost too quickly for my taste. </p>

I wonder why NOBODY is talking about Bolin and his talk with Toph... his whole talk... lol I mean one of the things that stood out to me, along with the ones that stood out to everybody, is that Bolin AGAIN brings up metalbending.... just when I was like hes a lavabender and he doesnt need metalbending... AGAIN its teased..... he asks Toph for advice and Toph said ANYBODY, even a blockhead like him, can learn it with proper instruction.... So I wonder if he does it this time... it was also great hearing toph commend Bolin on lavabending..... </p><p>ok to This topic, Opal was still worried about him so its clear she loves him but she was stressed about her family more than being mad at Bolin, even she knew Bolin would be against capturing her family as said in was it episode 7? But yea this WAS one of the best episodes of the season, seeing Toph create that wave that dismantled all the soldiers was pure class and then calling Kuvira out saying "YOU GIVE METALBENDERS A BAD NAME" was awesome and Kuvira could do nothing lol. </p>

<p>I think Opal's anger towards Bolin was misdirected anger towards Kuvira and Baatar Jr. for their betrayal of her family. She couldn't strike them, so she took it out on Bolin. Once she realized Bolin was a victim, not an aggressor, she forgave him </p>

<p>They can insist all they want.  It remains that they had Korra on a hair-trigger (and didn't let her be <i>right</i> about much of anything) while—up until "Peacekeepers," at least—seeming to go out of their way to portray Mako as the long-suffering voice of reason.  </p><p>And then, they're baffled when the fanbase comes down on Korra without considering that she had a perfectly good <i>reason</i> to be on edge. </p>

Also, you strongly implied that they deliberately made Korra out to be, in your words, "The stereotypical angry girlfriend." Which is untrue. </p>

I guess I shouldn't be surprised at Opal's stubbornness since it runs in the Beifong family.

<p>I would hope that in time, Opal would also acknowledge that she was being unfair and ask Bolin's forgiveness just like he asked for hers. </p>
