Let's just hope they actually killed her, and not just made it look like they did. These kids' shows have an inexplicably difficult time dealing with a topic like death. They can't even say certain harmless words without having the FCC breathing down their necks. In ATLA, Aang was never going to "kill" the Fire Lord. He might "end" him, or "bring him down" or even "take his life", but never straight-up murder him, and this wasn't even an issue until the series finale. Sokka & Katara's mother wasn't killed; she was "taken", and she's now "gone". We couldn't even have the satisfaction of knowing whether or not Jet survived...it's obvious that he didn't, but saying so is just a little too real for the young'uns. Hell, even Admiral Zhao didn't really die. Yeah, we saw Roku die, but that trauma was instantly cauterized by witnessing his reincarnation in the form of baby Aang.

Admittedly, LOK is a little more realistic. I have to say that I was surprised at the fact that all the bad guys in Seasons 1 & 2 were killed, two via murder-suicide and one via existential obliteration. It's true that Hiroshi Sato survived, but I still hold out hope for his redemption. As far as the current villains are concerned, nothing less than death will take them out. Putting them in prison obviously didn't work, and I don't see a group of die-hard fanatics turning over a new leaf anytime soon, so there's only one obvious answer as to how to deal with them. But this answer is a little outside of Nickelodeon's comfort zone, so we'll have to wait and see if they (as well as their latest victim) will actually die.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe in A:TLA Book 4, "Sozin's Comet Part 2: The Old Masters", after consulting his past lives, Aang commented that he would have to "kill the Firelord." Of course, he didn't do that, but it comes as a bit of a shock to me that they used the word "kill" instead of something like "end".

There was also "You're weak, just like the rest of your people! They did not deserve to exist in this world! In MY world! Prepare to join them! Prepare to DIE!"

As for the OP, I'm on the fence.
