ALL POSTSSaddest moment of the show (azula's breakdown)
<p>(Now just saying i haven't read the graphic novels so just a heads up. But I'm trying to buy them) Now i don't know about you but Azula's breakdown was the saddest part in the show for me. Think about it, she was born and raised a princess being told she was a prodigy and she was superior to everyone. Her mother never loved her so she developed a tactic of pushing her feelings down. She used fear to control people and when Zuko was finally gone she had the opportunity to get everything she wanted. When her father was becoming the Phoenix King she was going to be fire lord the thing she wanted to most. When she finally had it all she realized her life was a lie. She found out what she wanted isn't going too are her happy. Her friends abandoned her and her mother never loved her. Azula had all the power in the world but what she truly needed was love and she never had the love she craved. Watching her realize she wasn't satisfied with all her power and being defeated by Katara was painful to watch. Anybody else have agree or have thoughts on her breakdown?

<p>Yeah I agree with you too, i guess Azula had enough. In the last airbender: the search Azula helped zuko and other's to find their mom (though her intentions were not good ) and at last she didn't do anything bad and ran away, I want her to find some peace after all this.

Yeah I've always imagined her getting over everything and settling down with a family but maybe thats me being to optimistic

It was definitley one of the most gripping parts of the show and it was perfect in its placement and excecution for the finale.

I agree </div> <p>I think being taken away from her home on such short notice, marrying someone she did not really know at that time, being told that she would not be allowed to have any contact with her family, friends, and loved ones after she was married <i>and </i>having children with someone who she might not have been as attracted to as compared to another person (just imagine how unpleasant that would be...hmm, maybe don't on second thought *shudders*...) could have effected Ursa. And she was most likely- I'm going to say somewhere in her 20's maybe- at this time and then Zuko comes in there like "BOOM! SU-PRIZE!!!!! YOUR'E A MOM!!!" And awww! He reminds Ursa of her boyfriend!! How sweet. Everything is fine and BOOM! Azula's all like "I SHALL DOMINATE YOUR WORTHLESS LIVES, PEASANTS!!!!" Hmm...well i`m sure she was just kidding about that part so i'll - oh, GOOD LORD!!! She looks like Ozai! In conclusion, i am not a mind reader. I do not know what was going through Ursa' s mind when all of this happened to her but I do know that She and Ozai had issues with one another. And what i've learned is when parents have issues, sometimes it weighs on the children. I would explain more but If you think about it i am sure it will make sense later. :) :D </p>

<p>that's right. I don't think Ursa hated her daughter. I think she did love her, it's the way of mothers. But Azula was just awful as a child, probably because she spent so much time with her father because of her bending abilties. So her mother feeling that Zuko needed special care because of the way he was treated by father and sister, may have watched over him/favored him in Azula's eyes. I think it's funny how Azula complains about Ursa favoring Zuko after they way she and her father treated him. Another thought I had was that Ursa wasn't a bender, something that maybe Azula's scorned. Despite all this, it was realy sad to see her react to the hallucination of her mother. I mean Azula was worse than her father in my opinion. She was the one who suggested burning the earth kingdom to the ground after all. But it wasn't her fault that her father was such a monster. But unlike Zuko, she didn't choose to do what was right. She chose to stay with her father and that's all the difference between the two siblings. Zuko serached for what was right and mourned when he was confused about which way he should turn. Remember on Ember Island she laughed at Zuko and told him he was pathetic when he said he was angry at himself because he couldn't see what was right or wrong anymore. </p>
