<p>Most of the characters in the show are white. And they should be left as white for any future live action adaptions. Don't change their color just to suit "equality" if the show says they are this color, leave them that color, it wont be racist! There are white people, tan people, yellow people, heck, there is even a really dark skinned Indian guy in the show! They don't need to be changed just to make a movie adaption "racially fair" That is stupid. Stick to the show, there are no need for big changes.  </p><p>I am a racist. I am so racist it is ridiculous. I am the most racist white guy you will ever meet! My black cousin and I are the most racist people you will ever come across. WE HATE THE IDEA OF RACE. There is really no such thing. In fact, all skin colors most likely came from one dark skin color, and then as people separated into different groups, certian genes got weeded out and the colors we see today came into existence. <p>First off, LOTR setting is Middle-earth, which Tolkein based of the European region on our planet. The Avatar world covers the <i>entire planet</i>. Even so, I have no problem had Peter Jackson cast non-whites in the main and major roles. Look at Marvel Studios. Thor is based on Norse (whites) mythology but some Asgardians were cast with non-whites, including a black guy for Heimdall, "the whitest of the gods", and an Asian guy for Hogun, who was based on Charles Bronson (a famous white actor). I said REAL LIFE races do not exist in the avatar world. because it is a fictional world completely separate from our own. so people aren't white (which is slang for European) or Asian or black (which is slang for African). or anything </p><p>they are simply water tribe, earth kingdom, fire nation, or air nomad. maybe there are few smaller ones. those are the races of the avatar world. </p>

<p>yes TODAY. as a result of the west's conquest of the world.but, the avatar world is based off medieval Asian culture. <p>exactly the entire middle earth was based on Europe. the entire avatar world was based on asia/inuit. each is a separate world from our own. </p><p>thor is based on a mythology, not an entire culture. and the marvel thor is an alien. its already silly in that regard that there are aliens that look just like humans. I like the marvel cinematic universe. but, I don't take it as seriously as Avatar. </p>
