</p><p><span style="font-size:14px;line-height:18px;">One of my reasons why firearms aren't included by scientific view (Also, it wouldn't be appriopiate for Nick) is that they are undermine by Bending, which is a great range way for combat. I don't think I have seen Crossbows (Unless you want to include the Shaymalized Movie) in the World of Avatar, looks like people haven't studied well about Projectiles. Now I say Firearms will be invented because in the bried Anti-Bending Revolution in the first season of LoK, the Equalist wielded powerful melee weapons (Eletric Sticks? That is bad a**). But those weapons are almost useless against a bender if the two oppenents are far away, that's they relied on agile militians. I bet this Anti-Bending Revolution is far from over and more weapons will be invented to counter act against Benders, in one of those inventions will be a Firearm, which will probably bring the Age of Bending to an end. </span>
</p><p><span style="font-size:14px;line-height:18px;">Now, what will they use as "gunpowder"? I was thinking and I guess there is explosive materials in Avatar, like the explosive jelly or those fireworks, they can be used to launch projectiles. If this is correct I can bet soon, probably even in Korra's time, there will be an invention of Firearms. Now, what do you think guys?</span>

Only a relative minority of soldiers can Bend. That's like saying that there is no use for ground troops because we can just drop bombs from the sky.

<p>I'd imagine that, if firearms were to be introduced, they'd probably skip the awkward muzzle loading phase with loose powder considering the level of technology already in the Avatar universe. Maybe Winchester-esque repeating rifles and revolvers at first?

I'm kinda surprised he hasn't had a spot already. I suppose if someone from the Krew goes through boot camp or extensively interact with the military he'll be the on the top of the list.

<p>I think we can see fire arms. The only problem would be the metal benders. They can control bullets. But this technique would be really beneficial to the fire nation. They can light an explosive substance easily.

</p><p>It's pretty doubtful we would see firearms in this universe but I can see can see a number of uses. The Earth Kingdom has the largest general population so it can benefit the most from such a technology. After all, you can train a number of nonbenders basic firearm principles in less time than many other martial weapons. Even bending seemed to take quite a bit of time to master.

<p>Honestly, I was always disappointed with the amount of technology that started creeping into ATLA towards the end, and I was thoroughly ticked off when I found out that they used 70 years as an excuse to turn the Avatar world into some ripoff steampunk bullshit place for LoK.
</p><p>Half of the appeal of the original Avatar world for me was its decent originality, and the other half was the non-technological nature of it. Â I watched Avatar because I liked the world it created. Â LoK took that beautiful and mysterious world and took a huge, steaming dump on it.

<p>In my opinion, I love the translation of technology in the Avatar World within 70 years. In ATLA, Fire Nation was technically Industrialized. Now for the firearms, I think it has a reason to be invented. Bender, as shown in the first season of LoK, are still king at long range combat. I believe the Equalist Movement won't be the last non-bending revolution. If non-benders want to face off the benders they need better long range weapons which Firearms can come out on the top list. Lets just wait and see how the Avatar Universe comes out and I really hope Nick doesn't ruin or milk the franchise to the ground.
