I have a qyestion about their fight. While Unalaq wasn't in the Spirit World, why didn't Korra use that specuial waterbending technique to destroy him??She didn't want him to grow inside of her or she felt like she didn't have the time to do that?

Also do you think that it is possible that if she locked Vaatu is the Tree of Time during the Harmonic Convergence he could be released again?

She simply didn't think about it, because her mindset was that she had to imprison him in the Tree of Time, because that is what Wan did. The overarching plot of the finale is her realizing that she defines what being the Avatar means, not the other way around. So the Korra who defeats Unavaatu is simply more open to creative thinking than the Korra who fought Vaatu.

There may be a way to release Vaatu ahead of schedule. Vaatu's weakness is his lack of imagination. Since he lives forever, it was nothing to him to wait out 10 millennia, so he may not have even given a thought to a way to speed up the process.

That's real plotbending.

I think Neo Bahamut has a point .It really did seem like all she tried to do before Vaatu fused was use the same method Wan used. Because....well, why not? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

And I don't think that Vaatu wasn't creative enough to escape early before the Harmonic Convergence. I think he realized that after Wan beat him, it wasn't just him vs. Raava anymore. It was him vs. Raava and the Avatar. He knew he had to even the playing field, so he waited for someone bad enough to come around so they could fuse like Raava and Wan.

Very good point.

That too.

Vaatu had to wait for Harmonic Convergence so he could be free, but he also had to find someone to fuse with in order to fight evenly with the Avatar.

Does that help?
