I can see that. I just think that their was more backstory for why Sozin and Ozai were terrible people where Yakone was just cruel and power mad. Their was no backstory why Yakone was as power hungry and crazy as he was.

<p>There wasn't really one for Sozin either, other than wanting power, which was what Yakone was like. Ozai grew up that way and got neglected by Azulon, but Sozin grew up as a privileged prince, but had the tendencies of a megalomaniac. </p>

<p>The thing is Yakone is the typical criminal, but Sozin is the tyrranical tyrrant leader that is like Stalin, or Hitler. </p>

Yep and the worst thing is Sozin had an entire country at his command and the comet. Yakone just had thugs.

<p>I define love as both a feeling and a commitment to the loved one's good. Lao truly thought he was doing what was best for Toph. I agree he was wrong about what was best, but he did truly try. </p><p>Also protecting one's children is one of a parent's deepest responsibilities. Lao just went overboard on it. </p>
