Seeing from a neutral standpoint, Unalaq has sadly turned into a villain not just because he had the WT judge on his paycheck, but also because he orchestrated the devastation of a sacred forest by hiring these barbarians for them to hide in it, which immediatly contradicts any statement made in defense of spirits and the spiritual realms.

His criticism on the Glacier Spirits Festival was intelligent, well made and people should at least hear him, but naturally his attitudes has shown to us that his concern over spirituality and/or enforcing the correct ways [no matter how] go below his own personal interest.

His interest was/is provoking spiritual wrath since he's one of the few persons with the power of calming them down. of course the lack of spirituality and interest on tradition is directly responsible on that or else Unalaq wouldnt be the only known guy on the south who can control these creatures.

Their lack of vision is terrible, and everyone is paying or could potentially pay the ultimate price.

Of course, Tonraq was not right [and will never be] in ordering such violent attack on the forest. he should've considered other less destructive forms [such as swarm the area with non-bender troops, as that wouldnt wreck the trees and stuff] of destroying his enemy.

Since Unalaq is now officially a villain [at least for now] while Verick has joined the Korra team to escape from his grip and free Tonraq.

I don't trust Verick either, as I think he'll try to get the upper hand once he saves his own skin, although everything goes now, and that "the dark side clouds everything" and judgement is very hard for the moment but we're sure that Korra will request assistance from the URN and president of the UR Raiko although we're not sure if its diplomatic or military.

It's probably military since we'll get a lot of fights that way and this makes ratings go up.

At least, all we need to know is that if the civil war won't turn into a proxy conflict where other side (my bet on the Fire Nation) supports the Northern WT, while the URN supports the Southern WT just like several proxy wars throughout history.

If the show plays the twist of the year and turns Raiko into the real villain, while Unalaq is just a part of his plan, that would be awesome however that probably won't happen.

Some good ideas, but Verrick I think is just going to be some good old comic relief. He's doing ab etter job than Bolin, and he makes Asami and Bolin fun and interesting to watch, so that's his purpose down. He's probably going to be like Lucius Fox was to Bruce Wayne; the developer for a lot of cool toys and inventions.

Yeah, Civil War is going forward, but I think the URN will be neutral at first, before siding with one or the other at the end. The other countries will likely side with the North, partly because I think Unalaq is acting as a puppet or proxy for another villain and he still has an important role to play as a villain for him to be overpowered so soon. Besides, side with with the strong so they don't turn on you one day.
