<p>If I had to guess, I'd say The Duke.
</p><p>Notice in the series ender, The Duke hurries to hug Toph (hinting affection), despite only meeting her during The Invasion. They were not shown interacting much during the episodes following the failed invasion, but that's likely due to the story focussing on everyone's "Field Trips" with Zuko.
</p><p>And Toph hugged back. If I'm not mistaken, that's one of the very few times Toph hugged a person, as her only hugs were group hugs with Team Avatar.
</p><p>And has anyone else noticed the similarities between The Duke and Lin?

<p>@Groxhugger I bet Lu Ten's mother was a very kind a sweet lady who loved tea just like her husband and she probably died at childbirth or some sorts.

<p>lin's father and toph's husband may not be the same man. also, maybe toph never got married. just sayin' it's a possibility.
</p><p>personally, i think she married a character we've never seen before, and that her husband is her daughter's dad. look at amon - everyone was guessing who he was, but bryke made up a whole new character for the man behind the mask.

<p>Sokka and Suki were a sweet couple but now that I think about it there was NO ensuring that they stayed together. I know it's kind of creepy, considering the ginormous age difference that there was, but what if Toph married Sokka?

<p>I have to be honest, I'm a little annoyed that people assume that she must have "married" anyone. I think, after all of the suicide, terrorism, & police corruption, the show may just believe we can handle the notion that Toph may have had children out of wedlock.

<p>Ehh, my headcanon is that Sokka fathered Suyin, but was with Suki at the time—stresses at work, perhaps? Or, Toph simply didn't tell him. But yes; a child out of wedlock isn't the 'worse' thing that can happen. I don't think marriage is entirely necessary anyway, but that's me.

<p>I don't think Toph ever married, to be honest. As for Lin and Suyin's fathers, going by skin colour, possible fathers for Lin are Aang, Zuko or The Dark One, and for Suyin Sokka or Satoru. Though they could also just be random new characters, of course. I just hope that <i>if</i> Lin or Suyin had one of the main ATLA characters as their father that they weren't conceived through affairs. It kinda bothers me how commonplace affairs are in American shows. :<span style="font-size:6pt"> </span>/
