<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:18px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-size:14px;line-height:22px;">I only considered Kyoshi, Roku, Aang, and Korra in this debate because, throughout the series, we really only see those 4 Avatars in action. We see some others for split seconds throughout the show, but nothing extensive. Each of the four I listed are from the four different nations and each have different natural elements:
Kyoshi = Earth
Roku = Fire
Aang = Air
Korra = Water</p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:18px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-size:14px;line-height:22px;">Let’s say they are at their most powerful that we have seen (cough cough Korra), so that means they are fully realized Avatars and they can control the Avatar state. So, who wins???</p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:18px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-size:14px;line-height:22px;">In my opinion, Kyoshi is the most ruthless, Roku is the wisest/most experienced, Aang is the most balanced/level-headed, and Korra has the most raw talent. Jeong Jeong once said that he had never seen such raw power while talking about Aang, which I can believe. Aang had to master 3 elements in 6 months, while others like Roku did so in 12 years! But I believe Korra surpassed Aang in that category due to the fact that she was water, earth, and fire bending when she was just a kid!</p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:18px;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-size:14px;line-height:22px;">When it comes down to it though, I think Aang would take the cake. He is the most balanced and thinks clearly (thanks to his airbending/monk upbringing), is very quick and elusive, and knows more techniques than the others (redirection of lightning, seismic sense, and energybending, although he taught it to Korra also). Those are my thoughts, what are yours? =)</p>

<p>For some reason I always imagined Kyoshi aging very slowly. It's just my thought, but I assumed she looked the same for most of her life and at 230 looked like your average 70 or 80 year old

<p>I believe Aang would be the most powerful, his circumstance was the most unique, he was able to learn three other elements in 6 months and he was only 12 years old, korra had spent her whole life training and still hadn't learned airbending, Aang was the youngest airbending master in history and within a few months of training in an element, could beat a master who had spent their whole lives trainig

<p>Well Aang was forced to learn the elements quickly. It's still impressive, but he wouldn't have done it if he didn't have to and only found out he was the Avatar because of the war. Korra and past Avatars weren't under that pressure. If you can help it, it's better to learn things gradually rather than rush. It wouldn't make sense for Korra to try and master the elements in months if she was able to take years. Alsor, but Korra has his experience and the rest of her past lives to draw from so she'll be better than him by the end of the series

<p>With the Avatar state the Last Avatar will always win. Apparently. But without it, I'd say the show showcased Aang as being a more versitile Avatar with Korra being a more powerful one. Siesmic sense could come in handy, and Earth and Water were clearly under Aang's belt by the time he was learning Fire from Zuko and most deffinately mastered by the time he fought Ozai. I don't know if he would be willing to kill either of his predecessors or his successor, but I do know that he would be willing to strip them of their power pretty quickly. And so far he seems to be the ONLY Avatar (Other than Korra) to learn Energybending, which is a great feat. Plus he is very spiritually atuned, and by the time he was an adult he seemed to be able to keep a level head and not panic very easily (Which he did at 112 since technically he is over 100 years old during the Series).
</p><p>I'd also like to note, that like in Naruto. The Older Generations seem to be more powerful than the Younger. But during the time of Avatar Korra a strange twist is seen, in the fact that Firebenders frequently bend Lightning. Earthbenders can Bend metal (Something unheard of during Avatar Aang's era) and Waterbenders are very decent bloodbenders. Coaping with all of that would make Korra by default more powerful, seeing as she was very gifted in her own right. Though going head-to-head with Aang in sheer ability may be a bit over her head. And not just because Aang is older, we just see him performing abilities that most benders didn't. (I really love siesmic sense)

<p>What if we said, that all the avatars each had a strength that surpassed all other avatars but was dominated in another skill by another avatar, then they would all be equal, and not able to defeat each other.

<p>For me, I think Avatar Kyoshi is the strongest. We just get to see a bit of her but everytime we do she is just the definition of pure strength. Also, she could hurl two giant badgermole statue and move an entire landmass like Kyoshi Island into the sea.
