I think that part of Asami's past has been explored as far as it can go. Any kind of in-depth look into the details of her mother's death would just be a reboot of what they did for Katara in the Southern Raiders episode. They might be able to do the episode from Hiroshi Sato's point of view in an attempt to rehabilitate him, but they already did that with Tarrlok. In any case, it would be unoriginal.

azula's voice actor (sorry, i can't remember her name) is returning to voice a younger version of an already established character. i think it's going to be a younger asami - who else would azula's voice be good for? the only other one i can think of that they'd do a backstory on is korra, but i just can't imagine her with that voice...

EDIT: oh, duh...it could be lin too.

Neah. My bet is DeLisle's voice would be used for a character from the old series rather than the new one. Who knows maybe flashbacks with Aang's kids - Kya maybe. Or an adult version of Katara because we have yet to see that and who's to say she can't do Katara's voice as a mature woman.

but if they will do a scene with Asami's mom I picture it like this : the gang begins to travel after that festival in the Northen Watertribe and one night around a camp fire Asami talks about her mother , her family in general following the events from Book 1 . it would tie up pretty well with her being in a saddened mood because her father betraied her and her mother is dead. Anyhow we have to wait and see.

I would be astonished if they didn't go into a bit more background with Asami, or the rest of the Krew for that matter. Hopefully we get a nice flashback episode, though that may be a bit difficult considering the episode number for the next season.

Well we kinda deserve more background stories of all of them. For us and for character development's sake. Also I want to see more Bumi because he seems like a heck of a character.

I'm sure that we'll see more of Bumi. I doubt it was an accident that they introduced him officially at the end of Book 1 :)

They may give us more background, considering the series has literally doubled in it's projected size, twice (12 to 26 episodes, then 26 to 52 episodes.) Even if Book 2 is more about Korra's getting in touch with the spirits, the third and fourth installment could give more attention to other characters like Zuko was important to the third season of ATLA.

I get the feeling Bumi is a bit of a berserker. I have this image of him dual wielding electified macanas (sword-like clubs) and charging headlong into battle, with his men just behind.
